Exactly one week ago, my friend Brie and I drove to Cincinnati to see one of our newest favorite bands.. LANY.
Me, being the crazy fan girl that I am, decided to leave about 5 hours before the doors even opened so we could get in line and of course, be front row. You see, after going to Bunbury, Brie and I are “front row or die trying” type of people. Don’t know how we even do it but we always manage to end up front row or pretty close to the front. Yes, just call us your concert/festival experts.
We got to the theater around 3:00 pm and there were already people waiting in line. (this broke my heart) (i was already mentally preparing to fight my way to the front) We quickly ran to Dewey’s Pizza, ate, and off to wait in line we went.
PSA: Dewey’s hawaiian pizza is the BEST. 10/10 would recommend.
While waiting in line, of course we made friends with everyone around us. We also took pictures and all of that pre-concert shenanigans.
While waiting in line, this guy approached us. He is in the band called Kullers and was probably one of the coolest guys I have ever met. The band is from Chicago where they play locally. Check them out on YouTube! They’re like an awesome mixture of The 1975 and LANY.

After waiting 4 hours in line, YES THAT’S RIGHT 4 HOURS. The doors opened and it was concert time. The opener for that night was Goody Grace. Let me tell you, as soon as that beautiful man got on stage I fell in love. His music is amazing and like I said, not too bad on the eyes. Thankfully, the girl that was standing next to me asked for his set list and then gave it to me. BEST. OPENER. EVER.
After Goody Grace there was a little bit more waiting before LANY. But that wait was so worth it because as soon as Paul, Jake, and Les came out I was in tears. They’re all so beautiful, both inside and out. Brie and I discovered LANY last year at Bunbury. They are one of the few bands that are SO good live. They are also just starting out so not a lot of people know about them but make sure you get familiar because these boys will go BIG. I just know it.
Me writing about how amazing LANY was live won’t do enough justice. So I decided to make a little video of some of my favorite songs by them. Listen, they are going on tour again in the fall!! Go ahead and listen to ILYSB 500 times so that once you’re at their concert, you can sing along at the top of your lungs. It’s the best feeling ever. It’s what gets me to constantly buy concert tickets.
As always, thanks for reading!
oh, and the link below is the video I made. enjoy!! 🙂
