Remember when I said there would be a part 2 to my birthday post? Well, here it is!

I know I said I would post this last week but once again, I am sorry but school is eating me a live. I realize how dramatic that sounds but it’s the truth. (send help)

Anyway, I decided to share all of my wisdom with you. Whether it’s something little or meaningful, I want you to know. Like, really KNOW. So here it goes..

1. Treat yo’ self!

IT’S THE BEST DAY OF THE YEAR. Kind of like in Parks & Rec, pick a day out of the week or month or year to treat yo’ self. Whether it’s going shopping, out to eat, a trip, or a concert. DO IT. Life is rough my friend, I know, so it’s nice to have something to look forward too. And who doesn’t love spoiling themselves? e x a c t l y.

2. Be a memory hoarder

I admit it, ok, I am the typical millennial that loves to document everything. (hi blog!) Whether it’s a picture, video, Snapchat, blog post, tweet, YOU NAME IT. I know some moments are best lived in the moment but I don’t regret taking a video of Coldplay’s concert when the entire crowd was singing Fix You. I take lots of pictures, videos, and write everything I experience. It may bother people sometimes but I LOVE IT. I love looking through old pictures or watching a video for the 95th time or reading through old blog posts. I’m here to tell you that it’s ok and that I understand.

3. Watch seasons 1-8 of Grey’s Anatomy AT LEAST 17 times or more because it will change you.

Ok, listen, it doesn’t necessarily have to be Grey’s Anatomy but it is encouraged. Pick a show, fall in love, re-watch it until your little heart is content. It may seem silly but you would be amazed how many friends or conversations are started because of a show. And don’t let Netflix asking you “Are you still watching?” for the 4th time discourage you. As a binge-watcher professional, I support you and I am rooting for you!!

4. Alone time is important

Being with family, friends, or a significant other is nice but make sure you can squeeze in some alone time. Not only is it healthy for you, it will also help you learn so many things about yourself. Alone time also helps to learn to love yourself. (I struggle with this myself so you can trust me on this one)

5. Take care of your body!!

Try to eat healthy and exercise. You will feel better, I PROMISE. Don’t just do it to look good, which I admit is a nice bonus. Do it for your health!

6. Read. Read. Read.

If you’re on a budget and live in Dayton, One Dollar Book Swap is the place for you!! Yes, you heard that right. BOOKS FOR $1! But point blank, reading is important. No better feeling than getting lost in a book. You learn so much and it’s so relaxing. I know reading isn’t for every one but it’s truly one of my favorite things to do.

7. Take a risk

I know I’ve already talked about this but it’s REALLY important. If there’s something you have been wanting to do for a while, DO IT. THIS IS YOUR SIGN. People will always talk and you can’t please everybody. Once you realize this, you will be unstoppable. Your life changes once you start taking risks. Whether the results are good or bad, you will always learn something!

8. Have a Harry Potter marathon

Want to test yourself, a friendship, or relationship? This is the way to do it. Only the strong ones survive. Plus, Harry Potter is awesome so why not.

9. Be kind

The world needs it now more than ever. And no it is not cool to be rude to everyone you encounter. In fact, it lacks maturity. Being nice, sweet, and loving is so much better than going around and hating everything around you.

10. Travel as much as you can

Listen I know some of us aren’t made of money but there are ways to travel for very cheap. Here’s a few tips:

  • Book flights during the week, NOT weekends
  • Traveling during the Holidays is expensive so avoid it at all costs
  • Airbnb is your best friend
  • Expensive hotels aren’t even worth it because let’s face it, you will only need your room to sleep and shower
  • Travel with as many people as you can. Divide the costs and it makes everything cheaper
  • Find yourself a sugar daddy (just kidding)

Gain my trust and I will give you even BETTER tips to travel for cheap. (hehe)

11-15. VERY IMPORTANT: Tell your loved ones that you love them

Unfortunately, I have lost 2 people that were very close to me this year. I quickly realized that life is too short. Being mad at someone is not worth it so always find a way to fix it. But seriously, tell those you love that you love them and you care about them and that you appreciate them.

16. Jam out at least once a day

Music is so important to me. It either calms me down, makes me cry, or makes me want to throw my ass in a circle. And there is no better feeling. So squeeze in a jam session in your day and I promise it will change everything.

17. Listen to your parents

Look, momma really knows best and so does dad. It’s like they are psychics or something.. they just KNOW. So listen to them. They only want what’s best for you. (I learned the hard way)

18. Support other people

Nothing makes me happier than seeing someone do what they love. Whether it’s a sport, music, writing, school, etc. I’m happy your happy!! I love feeling supported and I know other people do too, so tell them that! Like I mentioned above, people love to talk and bring others down so it’s nice to feel supported. GO YOU!

19. When in doubt, PUPPIES

Whether it’s looking at pictures or going to the mall to play with puppies.. do it. 12/10 would recommend.

20. If you have read this long..

Thank you! It means so much to me when people read my blog. I know some (most) are lengthy but I just have so much to say. And if you know me in real life, you already know I talk a lot to begin with. But really, if you read or skim through, THANK YOU SO MUCH. I know I originally said my blog would be about my adventures and I haven’t really had any so far. Listen, this semester was the hardest semester of my life. I took classes that determined whether or not I graduate and also took on an internship. So it’s been hard to even get out of the house. But this semester is coming to an end and I have lots planned for this summer. I plan to bring you all along!! Whether it’s through my blog, social media, or videos.. you will be right there with me! So thank you for hanging on and supporting me. The wait is almost over!

As always, thanks for reading!

love,

claudia

I’m also going to take the time to promote my social media right now.. oops. 🙂
